Professor Recognized for Research Contributions
Associate Professor Yingyan (Celine) Lin recently received the Semiconductor Research Corporation (SRC) 2024 Young Faculty Award. This recognition "honors researchers within the SRC community for their novel research and outstanding technical contributions."
Lin’s lab, the Efficient and Intelligent Computing (EIC) Lab, focuses on developing efficient machine-learning (ML) systems that promote green artificial intelligence (AI) and enabling ML-powered intelligence.
Since joining the School of Computer Science in 2022, Lin has made significant strides in her research. Her contributions to advancing efficient and intelligent computing have earned several accolades, including the Best Paper Award at MICRO 2024, a feature as an IEEE Micro Top Pick of 2023, and an oral paper at ECCV 2024.
Previously, her team secured first place in the ACM SIGDA University Demonstration at DAC 2022 and the ACM/IEEE TinyML Design Contest at ICCAD 2022.
Lin has been involved with SRC since the beginning of her career and most recently became a team member for the $30 million SRC JUMP 2.0 Center, CoCoSys.
“My journey with SRC began during my Ph.D. studies when I was supported by SRC’s STARnet program. Hence, receiving this award marks a full-circle moment for me. It’s not just an encouraging honor; it’s a powerful reminder of SRC's impact on our community, nurturing the next generation of scientists and engineers,” Lin said.
In addition to her research, Lin is a dedicated mentor to her students. Her students have also received notable awards, including the International Create the Future Contest, the Cadence Women in Technology Scholarship, and an IBM Fellowship.
