
Nine Computing Lecturers and Research Faculty Members Earn Promotions
The College of Computing is celebrating the promotions of several lecturers and research faculty, recognizing their outstanding contributions to the college’s mission of excellence in education and research.
Dean Vivek Sarkar emailed the College community last week to announce the promotions and to applaud the faculty members for their dedication and hard work.

Two faculty members from the School of Computing Instruction (SCI) have earned promotions. Gerandy Brito and Max Mahdi Roozbahani have been promoted from Lecturer to Senior Lecturer. Along with teaching undergraduate courses, Brito and Roozbahani teach Online Master of Science in Computer Science (OMSCS) course.
The dean also shared the list of research faculty members earning promotions this year. They include:
- Keith Adkins (College) – Promoted to Research Associate II
- David Howard (College)– Promoted to Research Technologist II
- Kwangho Park (College)– Promoted to Research Technologist II
- Zachary Bischof (School of CS) – Promoted to Senior Research Scientist
- Amanda Meng (School of CS) – Promoted to Senior Research Scientist
- Akihiro Hayashi (School of CS) – Promoted to Principal Research Scientist
- Jun Shirako (School of CS) – Promoted to Principal Research Scientist
“These promotions reflect the talent and commitment of our faculty,” said Sarkar. “Their contributions to teaching, research, and the overall success of our college are invaluable. I am incredibly proud of their achievements and grateful for their dedication.”
Sarkar also shared his appreciation for the mentors, colleagues, students, staff, and family members who supported these faculty members throughout the promotion process. He extended special thanks to Associate Dean for Faculty Development Beki Grinter for overseeing the process.
